During a personal broadcast on Twitch, content creator Gleb y0nd Vazhnov listed the strongest characters for each role in the current meta. The streamer named Storm Spirit, Ember Spirit, Queen of Pain, and Puck as the best mid laners, and Bristleback, Centaur Warrunner, Beastmaster, and Lycan as the best offlaners.

For the carry role, y0nd presented a broader list of relevant characters: Ursa, Troll Warlord, Bristleback, Anti-Mage, Medusa, Juggernaut, Gyrocopter, and Kez. For fifth posotion, Gleb considers Silencer and Warlock to be the most effective, as well as Snapfire and Jakiro, whom he singled out as some of the best fourth position heroes at the moment, along with Rubick and Ringmaster.

Best heroes in each position in matchmaking over the last week (7000-8500 MMR):

Juggernaut — 53% in 3649 matches
Leshrac — 56% in 1485 matches
Slardar — 53% for 1160 matches
Spirit Breaker — 53% for 1552 matches
Disruptor — 52% for 1825 matches

As a reminder, patch 7.39e was released on October 3. Helm of the Dominator and Refresher Orb were nerfed, and Kez became available in Captain's Mode. In addition, several general changes were made and neutral creeps were affected.
