Virtus.pro (Outsiders) is disqualified from the DPC EEU Tour 2 Regional Playoffs

Tournaments

The organizers disqualified Virtus.pro from the Dota Pro Circuit 2021/22 Spring Tour for Eastern Europe after a scandalous episode in the playoff match against Mind Games. The Ukrainian team will get the victory, despite the fact that the game ended in favor of VP, who play under the Outsiders tag in the tournament. This was reported on the Beyond The Summit page on Twitter.

During the first map, Ivan «Pure» Moskalenko of Virtus.pro drew a Latin letter Z on the mini-map, which is used to support Russia’s violent actions in Ukraine. After that, he and his teammates quickly painted over the symbol. Pure commented on the incident, stating that he did not mean to offend anyone, and the drawing was accidental.

The exclusion of the Outsiders from the spring DPC league means Mind Games will now face BetBoom in the final of the upper bracket of the playoffs, and Team Secret will play the winner of the NaVi – CIS Rejects duel in the semi-finals of the lower part of the tournament tree.

As CyberScore reported, Valve halved the prize money for the participants of the DPC EEU 2021/22 Spring Tour. In the second season the teams are fighting for three places at ESL One Srockholm Dota Major 2022, which will be held in an updated format.
