Virtus.pro and Yakutou Brothers were the first teams to be eliminated from FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2
The group stage of FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 continues, and the first teams have already left the tournament. After three consecutive losses without a single win, Virtus.pro and Yakutou Brothers ended their run.
Both teams failed to cope with their opponents and finished at the bottom of the standings, exiting the championship earlier than others. Despite their updated rosters, the squads showed a weak performance and couldn’t put up a serious fight against the competition. It’s worth noting that both teams earned their slots through regional qualifiers.
For the new Virtus.pro roster, this championship became their second disappointing result in a row. The team failed to find its rhythm and lost to Runa Team in the third round of the group stage with a score of 1:2, finishing the event and earning $10,000 in prize money.
Offlaner Nikita Daxak Kuzmin commented on the team’s performance at the tournament:
I honestly don’t know how to describe my feelings after such a loss. Everything probably started with me - the first two games the team played well, but I ruined it, and then came the butterfly effect. What hurts the most is for Abed, who tried his best in every game and played 1v9.
Yakutou Brothers also recently made two roster changes. The Chinese team lost to MOUZ with a 0:2 score, becoming the second team to exit the championship. Their final match went terribly — on both maps, the team failed to get more than 10 kills, and each game ended in under 30 minutes.
Their current losing streak has now reached 13 series in a row, dating back to BLAST SLAM IV, where they also failed to win a single match.
