TI11: 20 teams will compete for the title in 2022 – insider

Valve has decided to increase the number of participants in The International 11 from 18 to 20. This information was revealed by Dota 2 commentator Shannon SUNSfan Scotten during a Twitch broadcast.

According to the insider, Valve will hold an additional LAN tournament, in which 12 teams will compete for 2 tickets to TI11. Teams that took second and third places in the closed regional qualifiers will take part in this ‘wildcard’ event.

Earlier the developers of Dota 2 decided to cancel the Dota 2 Winter Major 2022 due to the spread of new strains of coronavirus. Later it became known that the tournament could still take place, but in an unusual format.
