Spectre's Arcana may appear in the next treasure

In the Dota 2 update on January 7, 2026, Valve made changes to the Arcana item data for Spectre called Phantom Advent. Presumably, this may be related to preparations for the release of a new cosmetic set for the character, which will include the Arcana.

The Phantom Advent set was added to Dota 2 on June 24, 2021, as a reward for reaching level 330 in the “Nemestice 2021” battle pass. The item is not available for sale or trade. Previously, similar exclusive Arcana sets for Windranger, Earthshaker, and Wraith King also appeared as rewards in treasure chests, as did alternate skins for Pudge, Invoker, Crystal Maiden, Anti-Mage, and Phantom Assassin.

As a reminder, dataminers have found possible signs of preparations for an upcoming event called “Dark Carnival”, which will likely be timed to coincide with the Chinese (Lunar) New Year, as was the case in 2017 with “Dark Moon”. A new treasure chest with exclusive items may be part of the event.
