“The game is weird. I know his understanding of Dota, he knows mine” - Save about the game against Nightfall

The support player of BetBoom Team, Vitaliy Save Melnyk, gave an interview to the We Make Dota Telegram channel. In it, the player discussed the team’s drafting strategy, the responsibilities of team members, and his feelings when playing against his former teammate Yegor Nightfall Grygorenko.

- During drafts, your coach Boolk sits at the computer, while you are behind everyone else. Why?

At the moment, Boolk drafts on my computer. This has been our setup for the last two years.

- What is your role at this time?

We prepare together. I sit behind him with notes, statistics, and also participate in the drafting process.

- You played against Tundra and Nightfall but lost. Did you feel any special emotions?

It’s not that I have anything personal with Nightfall, we have a very good relationship. It’s just that playing against him is a bit unusual, as I’ve spent my whole career on the same team with him. He knows my understanding of Dota, and I know his, so it’s a bit strange. But maybe over time, it will just feel like any other match against another team.

- How are the team responsibilities divided?

We have three leaders in the team: myself, Pure, and our coach Boolk. We take on the captain’s duties. In the game itself, Pure and I are the most active in making calls.

Today, BetBoom Team and Tundra Esports faced off again in the lower bracket final of the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 playoffs. As a result, BB Team was eliminated from the tournament, and Tundra advanced to the grand final, where they will meet Team Falcons.

BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 runs from October 19 to 26. Twelve teams are participating in the tournament, which has a prize pool of $1,000,000.
