Success factors and European bootcamp: SA Rejects manager reviews PGL Wallachia Season 8
South America Rejects manager Edson EdsonVera Vera Bazan said in an interview that one of the key factors behind their successful performance at PGL Wallachia Season 8 was the right mindset and preparation for the tournament:
We did not feel the pressure of expectations, so the team played freely and trusted each other. We also had solid preparation, ESL One Birmingham helped us improve our teamplay, and we had a clear understanding of the current meta. The players also stepped up individually in key moments, which played a big role.
Recall that the team finished 5-6 at the tournament, competing without an organization at the time, whil BetBoom Team became the champions.
Commenting on the loss to Team Liquid in the second round of the lower bracket, EdsonVera noted that the team learned from the result:
After the loss, we told the players not to give up because we showed a strong performance. We made several mistakes that cost us important moments, but that is part of the learning process. At the same time, we were playing against a top-tier team and understand the level of our opponent.

Earlier, the team’s coach Juan Vintage David Angulo Nicho stated that the roster would remain in Europe, using the $60,000 in prize money earned at the tournament. The manager confirmed that the team is organizing a bootcamp in Romania and explained the reasons behind this decision:
Since we had to play in the second division of DreamLeague, there was not enough time to relocate, so this was the best option. Our main goal is to qualify for DreamLeague Season 29. We want to maximize our level, improve consistency, and practice against top teams.
It is worth noting that during PGL Wallachia, the team simultaneously competed in DreamLeague Division 2 Season 4 and is currently in the lower bracket of the playoffs.
According to Bazan, the main weakness of the team right now is inconsistency:
In Birmingham, we showed that we can compete against any team and beat strong opponents, but we are still working on consistency. This comes with experience and discipline. The important thing is that the team has potential, and now we need to stabilize it.
Previously, the roster was part of paiN Gaming and finished 11-12 at ESL One Birmingham 2026, but on April 12 the organization decided to close its Dota division and release the roster. The players chose to stay together and continue playing as a team.
