OG will play at ESL One Birmingham 2024 instead of 1WIN

Tournament operator ESL announced that team 1WIN has withdrawn from their upcoming tournament ESL One Birmingham 2024, and their slot will be taken by OG. This was made known from the organizer's social media.

In the post published by ESL, it is said that the team of Georgiy swedenstrong Zaynalabidov will not be able to participate in the event due to visa issues. This publication also explains why the slot was given to OG, instead of Virtus.pro, which took 3rd place in the Eastern Europe qualifiers.

Despite extending the visa deadline to 12:00 CEST yesterday for all teams, 1WIN were unable to field an eligible roster in time for ESL One Birmingham 2024 due to visa issues. The next EEU team in the qualifiers for the slot are also unable to attend for similar reasons. The next eligible team to be invited will be OG, which came in second at the WEU qualifiers and have already confirmed their ability to enter the UK

ESL One Birmingham 2024 - A LAN tournament that will take place in the British city of Birmingham from April 22 to 28. The event will feature 12 teams. Direct invitations were given to: Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, Xtreme Gaming and Team Liquid. The remaining 8 participants will be determined by the results of the closed qualifiers. The tournament's prize pool will be $1 million and 26,640 EPT ranking points.
