“With my level of laning, I could win the game as early as the sixth minute,” — PARIVISION midlaner on the current meta
PARIVISION midlaner Vladimir No[o]ne Minenko reflected on the current state of the mid lane during his Twitch stream. He noted that he is generally satisfied with the modern mid gameplay, but admitted that he felt more comfortable during the era of Virtus.pro’s “golden” roster, which he was part of from 2016 to 2020.
With my laning level, I preferred the old mid, because I could win the game by the sixth minute. This happened very often in Virtus.pro: there were Major finals where by the sixth minute it was already clear that the game was easy. But Dota was completely different back then.
In conclusion, Minenko emphasized that the current version of the game feels different, but he has adapted to the changes and does not consider the modern meta to be problematic.

Over the past few years, the developers have introduced numerous defensive mechanics, increased the amount of resources on the map, and improved the survivability and income of supports. These changes have made the game more team-oriented and have largely limited the ability for players to shine in a solo carry style.
In earlier versions of the game, denying allied creeps granted no experience to the opponent. With a high level of skill, this allowed players to build a significant advantage on the lane from the very first creep waves.
No[o]ne is considered one of the strongest laners in Dota 2, and many esports players have noted that in the past he had virtually no equals. Additionally, coach Timur Ahilles Kulmukhambetov included Vladimir in his ranking of mid lane players, where he placed second.
