MOUZ advanced to the grand final of PGL Wallachia Season 6
The final day of PGL Wallachia Season 6 began with the lower bracket final between MOUZ and Team Liquid. The winner would secure a spot in the grand final. MOUZ proved stronger in the series with a 2:1 score and advanced, while Liquid finished the tournament in 3rd place.
The first map was a failure for Liquid, starting from the draft. The poor pick of the non-meta carry hero Faceless Void led to weak lanes and, subsequently, MOUZ’s domination throughout the game. Liquid managed only 17 kills compared to 44 by MOUZ, and notably, Liquid’s support Samuel Boxi Swan died 17 times on this map while playing Shadow Demon.
On the second map, MOUZ nearly closed the series, but one successful fight and the absence of buybacks allowed Liquid to turn the game around and equalize the score. On the deciding map, MOUZ dominated again from the start. Excellent play by mid player Zheng MidOne Ye on his signature Leshrac was key to victory: by the 2nd minute he solo killed the enemy mid, finishing with 22 kills, 15 assists, and only 5 deaths.
In the post-match interview, MOUZ offlaner Miroslav BOOM Bican shared his emotions and talked about team changes and self-improvement:
We have a good understanding of each other, and when I initiate, I know the team will always back me up. Over the last two years, I have worked a lot on myself, improving my mental state and gameplay, which is giving results. I hope we won’t get too tired in the match against Spirit, but we are ready for the final.
It’s also worth noting that MOUZ are playing this tournament with a substitution: instead of Melchior Seleri Hillenkamp, Oleg kaori Medvedok is playing. There’s no official reason for the player’s absence, but it’s most likely due to visa issues.
