Meta report: how heroes changed after The International 2025
Recently, The International 2025 came to an end and now we can clearly see which heroes became the leaders in ranked games. It is worth noting that the meta in pubs is noticeably different from the professional scene: some heroes that shone at the tournament are almost never seen in regular matches, while completely different characters take the lead in public games.
We have gathered up-to-date statistics and highlighted the main heroes who dominated matchmaking after the biggest tournament of the year.
On the carry position, Nature's Prophet returned to the top with a win rate of 54.4%. Juggernaut and Ursa shared second and third place, both showing 54.3%. In fourth place is Medusa, who was also frequently picked at The International, but in pubs her win rate was only 51.1%. The top five is closed by Lifestealer with 53%, although he was played in only about 400 matches.
Interestingly, heroes that were actively used by professional players did not make it to the top: Templar Assassin, Troll Warlord, Gyrocopter, and Anti-Mage.
The leader of the previous meta, Leshrac, dropped to second place with a 55.1% win rate. By the number of games, he was surpassed by Queen of Pain, who achieved a 53.5% win rate. Third place went to Earthshaker with 54.6%, who also entered the top 5 most-picked heroes at the tournament with 41 appearances. In fourth place, Invoker appeared for the first time, thanks to a new build with Helm of Dominator and Drum of Endurance. Fifth place went to Ember Spirit, with a 52.2% win rate.
At the same time, the favorites of pro teams, Puck and Shadow Fiend, failed to achieve high win rates and therefore did not make it into this list.
First place in the offlane is still held by Dawnbreaker, with more than 1,400 games and a win rate of 54.5%. Next comes Earthshaker, who performs confidently in all roles: on position 3 he appeared in 1,025 matches and reached a 56.5% win rate. Completing the top three is Slardar, who, despite a modest 629 games, achieved a 56.4% result.
Also making it into the top 5 is Axe with 51.5% across more than 1,000 matches, while Magnus closes the list. Interestingly, at The International 2025 Magnus showed only a 29% win rate in 17 matches, but in ranked games his win rate remains at around 52%.
Among the strongest supports, in fourth place is one of the key heroines of the tournament - Snapfire. Her win rate is identical in both pubs and the pro scene - 54.1%. Moreover, at the championship she became the second most-picked hero, with 48 selections. In second place among supports is Earthshaker with 55.3%, while Spirit Breaker holds third place with 53%. Also in the top are Silencer and Pugna, who continue to show consistent effectiveness.
Among hard supports, leadership belongs to Lion with a 54.1% win rate. He is followed by Silencer, who played more than 1,500 matches, and the top three is completed by Disruptor with 52.6%. Interestingly, Disruptor became the most demanded hero of the tournament: he was picked 53 times but had only a 45.3% win rate. In pubs, however, his results look much better - 1,481 games with a 52.6% win rate.
In addition, Clockwerk made it into the list with 619 matches and a 53.3% win rate. The top five is closed by Pugna, who, in the role of hard support, shows a slightly weaker result - 51.6%, but is picked much more often.
