Heroic leaves Dota 2: what will happen to the roster

Robin Nymann, Chief Gaming Officer at Heroic, announced that the organization is shutting down its Dota 2 division due to financial difficulties. The team’s roster will remain intact and is currently seeking a new sponsor.

"The unfortunate reality is that Dota is a tough game to commercialise, and at HEROIC we have not been able to make it bear fruit for a long time now. I have nothing but faith in this group of people, and the only reason we've made this decision is financial. Even though they won't be under our banner anymore, I will continue to work with them outside of my responsibilities to HEROIC."

Heroic introduced its first Dota 2 roster in 2024. Over several years of competition on the pro scene, their best results included: victories at PGL Wallachia Season 2 and FISSURE Universe: Episode 7, 3rd-4th place at BLAST Slam IV, as well as top-6 finishes at PGL Wallachia Season 7, BLAST Slam VI, and The International 2025.

Former Heroic roster:
  • YumaYumaLanglet
  • SantiagoTaiLungAguero Gustavo
  • Adrian CespedesWisperDobles
  • Thiago de OliveiraThiolicorCordeiro
  • MatheusKJSantos Jungles Diniz
  • Igor Kaffs Furtado
  • Gustavo Fcr Batista Teixeira Ribeiro

The club's most recent tournament was PGL Wallachia Season 8, where the team finished in 7th-8th place. It should be noted that the roster has secured slots for DreamLeague Season 29 and BLAST SLAM VII, which will take place very soon.

As CyberScore previously reported, SA Rejects registered under a new tag for 1W ESSENCE I.
