The annual event Frostivus has been released in Dota 2
On the night of December 19, Valve released the annual event for Dota 2 — Frostivus. As part of the event, players were introduced to a new treasure and a festive story, which is already available in the game. In addition, the developers added the "Forge," where you can exchange so-called "Extracts" for valuable rewards and bonuses for the "Crownfall." The Frostivus event will conclude on January 15.
Frostivus Treasure — Winters 2024 Heroes' Hoard
The treasure contains 17 unique sets for heroes, as well as personas for Pudge and Anti-Mage. Moreover, the incredibly rare reward is the Arcana for Windranger with a new set. Almost every set includes a bonus such as an animation, a loading screen, or, in the case of Marci, a pet.
Frostivus Forge
Play Dota and collect "Extracts." There are four types: Crystallize Joy, Essence of Friendship, Concentrated Whimsy, and Festive Spirit. These resources can be exchanged for delightful gifts: voice lines, stickers, emoticons, and a treasure with loading screens.
Among the more interesting rewards are a festive courier, a new skin for the Tormentor, 5 tokens for each act of the "Crownfall," a sticker capsule, and coins for discounts in the event store. You can also obtain 5 treasure chests from last year’s "Frostivus" event.
In addition, Valve revealed the true meaning of "Frostivus" — hats. Until the end of the season, your hero will start the game wearing a Frostivus hat. These hats are not just accessories but a measure of success: they can be stolen from enemies and gifted to allies using the "Frostivus Spirit" ability or earned through kills.
Hats stack on top of each other, creating a "tower of vanity." The number of hats will be displayed on the post-game screen so you can prove your supremacy.
