The worst figure in the past seven years — Dota 2 had a record average online drop
Over the past 30 days, the average online in Dota 2 has dropped by more than 60,000 users, representing a decline of approximately 10%. According to Steam Charts, this is the worst figure in the last seven years.
The last time there was a larger online drop was in April 2019 — a decrease of 66,286 users. In the subsequent period, the monthly player exodus exceeded 50,000 only once — a decrease of 55,139 in December 2022.

The largest decline in online players in history occurred in September 2015 — nearly 100,000 users (-98,787). That was when Dota 2 Reborn was released and the transition to Source 2 took place.
As a reminder, the latest gameplay patch, 7.40c, was released in January. During DreamLeague Season 28, the developers did not release a major update, as is usually the case. Later, only the spring season of “Quarteros Curios” was released.
According to Yaroslav NS Kuznetsov, Valve is working on a major event, which is expected to launch in April. This is confirmed by active updates to the Dota 2 Staging Server for a large number of versions, which began last week. Dataminers also believe that a major event may be released next month.
As CyberScore previously reported, Largo and TA are the main imbs of PGL Wallachia Season 7.
