“In half the cases, developers make mistakes in patches”, — MOUZ carry

MOUZ carry Remco Crystallis Arets gave an interview to the Hotspawn YouTube channel, in which he shared his thoughts on patch 7.41 and its impact on the team’s results at ESL One Birmingham 2026.

After the update, the team experienced a sharp drop in form. According to the player, the patch changes directly affected their hero pool and overall preparation level.

Before the patch everything was going well, but after it things got worse. Suddenly an update comes out, your heroes end up in the dumpster, and all you can do is hope you manage to find something new. If you don’t, you lose. That’s exactly what happened to us.

On one hand, there was interest in the new changes, but on the other — pressure, since we had to read, test, and make sure the changes were actually accurate, while developers are wrong about half the time. For example, the Aghanim’s Shard description for Bloodseeker said the effect pierces Black King Bar, but in reality it does not.

In addition, the MOUZ carry positively evaluated the changes to the creep meeting mechanics on the side lanes, noting that this adds more depth to the laning stage and expands players' options.

This is an excellent and long-overdue change. Now you can influence the lane in advance and plan your actions, which adds more depth to laning. Yes, it has become harder for carries, but there are more options — from early creep blocking to different lane scenarios, and this makes the game more interesting.

At the recent ESL One Birmingham 2026, MOUZ placed 7-8, losing in the first round of the lower bracket of the playoff stage. In the group stage, the team secured four wins out of seven matches.

The team also received a direct invite to the playoff stage of PREMIER SERIES, where they will begin their run on April 8.

It is worth noting that MOUZ made several roster changes ahead of the BLAST Slam VII qualifiers, as the team’s support Melchior Seleri Hillenkamp retired.

PREMIER SERIES will take place from 01.04.2026 to 11.04.2026 in an online format. The main stage of the tournament will be held from 07.04.2026 to 11.04.2026. A total of 18 teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool.

Earlier, CyberScore reported on the opinion of Team Falcons' midlaner regarding the team’s performance at ESL One Birmingham 2026.
