ChuaN returns to coaching at BLAST SLAM VI qualifiers

Malaysian esports player Wong ChuaN Hock has joined the Southeast Asian organization Carstensz Esports, taking over as the team’s Dota 2 coach. The information appeared in the team registrations for the regional qualifiers.

ChuaN’s previous team was Neon Esports, where he worked from late 2021 until January 2024. During this period, the roster competed in several tier-2 and tier-3 tournaments in the Asian region, with their best result being a second-place finish at Mastercup SEA 2023. The team failed to qualify for major international events.

It is worth noting that Wong Hock began his playing career back in 2009 during the early days of the original Dota. Three years later, he became the champion of The International 2012 with Invictus Gaming, also winning ESL One Frankfurt 2014 and WPC 2014 with the same organization.

Later, ChuaN joined NewBee, where he continued to achieve strong results, including winning Nanyang Dota 2 Championships Season 2, finishing second at EPICENTER 2016 and placing third at The Manila Major 2016.

At the moment, Carstensz Esports had an unsuccessful run in the first open qualifiers of the region for BLAST SLAM VI, losing their opening match to Ivory Team. However, the team will have another opportunity to qualify for the tournament through the second open qualifiers.

The open qualifiers for BLAST SLAM VI start on January 2. The closed qualifiers are scheduled for January 5, while the main stage of the tournament will take place from 13.02.2026 to 15.02.2026 in Malta, where twelve teams will compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool.
