Warlock counterpicks: who to choose against this hero in Dota 2

Warlock is an intelligence ranged hero. He possesses powerful spells capable of turning the tide of battle. He can slow down enemies, heal allies, and deal area-of-effect damage. His ultimate, Chaotic Offering, summons golems that not only deal damage upon landing but also stun enemies. Thanks to his abilities, Warlock is most commonly played as a support, but depending on the situation, he can also appear in the mid lane.

Good picks against Warlock are heroes who:

• Have high resistance to slows
• Can quickly neutralize him before he casts his ultimate

• Slark – Pounce allows Slark to quickly reach Warlock and escape from Upheaval, while Dark Pact removes debuffs. With Shadow Dance, Slark can safely withstand attacks from the golems and take them down. Moreover, his high attack speed lets him eliminate the ultimate golems faster and retreat if necessary.
• Storm Spirit – Storm Spirit counters Warlock with his high mobility, as positioning is critical for Warlock during fights. Early Game:

In the late game, Warlock becomes especially dangerous with items like Aghanim’s Scepter and Refresher Orb. Normally, his ultimate summons one golem, but with Aghanim’s Scepter, it summons two weaker ones. However, using Refresher Orb will summon up to four golems, which can be a significant problem.

Avoid extended fights, as Warlock can heal allies and deal massive damage to enemies. Always focus him before the fight begins, as his golems remain a threat even after his death.
