Mirana counterpicks: who to choose against this hero in Dota 2

Mirana is a ranged agility hero. Before Facets, Mirana was mostly a support character, and after she became one of the strongest carry in Dota 2, but has not lost the ability to effectively support the team in combat.

A good choice against Mirana will be heroes that:

• Have abilities with strong dispel
• Can catch, control, and quickly kill Mirana.
• Can escape Mirana's attacks

Some of the best heroes against Mirana:

• Slark - Can catch Mirana with Pounce, under the effect of which she will not be able to use Leap. Slark can also dispel Sacred Arrow's stun if he has time to cast Dark Pact.
• Morphling - If Aghanim's Shard is present, he can use Attribute Shift while under Sacred Arrow's stun. By applying Ultimates on Mirana and using Leap Morphling will get an insufficient bonus to movement and attack speed.

How to counter Mirana:

Beginning of the game:

Even before the creeps come out, you risk becoming an easy victim for Mirana and her allies if you decide to pick up a bounty rune at the start of the game without knowing where the enemies are or having a proper vision on the map. Always be prepared for Mirana to look for opportunities to hit Sacred Arrow from long range. This easiest to do when the hero is waiting for a rune, plasing and breaking wards or farming creeps, taking over a watcher, using teleportation or a paired portal. You'll also be vulnerable in narrow passageways and in Rosh-pit.

Mid-game:

It's important to maintain a good vision on the map and keep Mirana from finding easy kills. It's not just Sacred Arrow that you should be aware of, but also other heroes with control on the enemy team, as Mirana usually won't use Arrow first if she has a hero with a disable that guarantees her a Sacred Arrow hit.

Late Stage:

Mirana's ultimates play a big role in the late. If you can't see Mirana and her allies, it's a good idea to move to a safe zone, and perhaps use scan to find out the location of the enemy team.

Overall strategy

When playing against Mirana, avoid her Sacred Arrow by moving unpredictably. Place vision to detect her Moonlight Shadow in time. Disables and silences will prevent her from freely moving in fights. Get survivability items to withstand her Leap and Starstorm combo. Proper positioning and timely vision will minimize her threat.
