Team Spirit and Xtreme Gaming eliminated from BLAST SLAM VI
In the first two matches of the Play-in stage at BLAST SLAM VI, Team Spirit faced Team Yandex, while Xtreme Gaming played against Team Falcons. The winners advanced to the playoffs, while the losers were eliminated from the tournament, finishing in 7th-10th place.
In the first series, Team Yandex confidently defeated Team Spirit 2:0. This marked Yandex’s second consecutive victory over the “dragons”, as they had also beaten Spirit earlier in the group stage in a Bo1 match.
This win can be considered revenge, as at the previous tournament, FISSURE Universe: Episode 8, it was Spirit who eliminated Yandex in the lower bracket final, stopping them one step away from the grand final.
Across both maps, Team Yandex fully controlled the game and did not allow their opponents to build even a 1,000 gold advantage. Analysts pointed out serious drafting issues for Spirit, as well as weak performances from the support players.
At the moment, drafting responsibilities for Team Spirit are handled by the team’s carry, Ilya Yatoro Mulyarchuk. On the first map, he chose Kez, a hero on which he had previously recorded only one win in six matches.
In the second series, Team Falcons showcased the form of The International 2025 champions and left no chance for Xtreme Gaming. The match ended 2:0, with the “falcons” holding a gold advantage of over 30,000 in both games.
Special mention goes to Falcons’ midlaner Stanislav Malr1ne Potorak, who returned to his signature heroes, Primal Beast and Sand King. In recent matches, he had more often opted for Beastmaster, Monkey King, and Sniper.
As a result, Team Yandex and Team Falcons advanced to the playoff stage, which will begin on February 13, while Team Spirit and Xtreme Gaming have ended their run at the tournament.
