"It hurts that a situation like this has affected me", — PlayTime support on the "322" allegations

Following the launch of the investigation into the incident at Esports World Cup 2026, PlayTime support Elvis Scofield De la Cruz Peña released an official statement, saying that he had no involvement in any potential breaches of competitive integrity and fully supported the decisions made by ESIC and the tournament organizers.

The team's mid laner, Máximo Wits Orozco, also commented, explaining that team members had been instructed not to share any information about the investigation or the incident, although he said he was deeply concerned about the situation.

I am not allowed to discuss it. I am fully cooperating with the investigation and doing everything I can to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and do not go unpunished.

I am very sad that I was unable to continue competing in this tournament because it was the first time I stepped onto the stage and experienced all the support and excitement from the crowd.

Meanwhile, former Peru Rejects (now PlayTime) player Farith Matthew Puente shared additional details during his livestream, which, according to him, came from sources close to the situation.

According to him, all players had their mobile phones confiscated for 10 hours, were placed in separate rooms, and questioned by EWC officials. He also claimed that, based on the information he had received, the organizers had substantial grounds to suspect one of the players of competitive integrity violations.

Matthew did not provide any evidence to support these claims and stressed that he was only relaying information he had received.

As a reminder, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) previously suspended mid laner Herrera Martínez DarkMago Oswaldo Gonzalo and coach Juan David Vintage Angulo Nicho pending the outcome of the investigation.

Following this, PlayTime received a default loss and was eliminated from EWC 2026. ESIC emphasizes that the investigation is still ongoing and that the individuals involved have not been officially found guilty.
