Nerub
Nerub is an old nickname for the hero Nyx Assassin from Dota Allstars. It originates from his original name — Nerubian Assassin. In the classic version of the game, the hero used the model of a Nerubian from Warcraft III — a spider-like race introduced in the Undead campaign.
With the transition to Dota 2, the hero got a new name and design, but the Russian-speaking community still uses the nickname “Nerub.” It’s a legacy term that dates back to the early Dota Allstars days.
