The term FF (from forfeit — "to surrender" and fast finish) in Dota 2 is used to indicate the desire to end the match early. Originally, this term came from DotA Allstars, where the consol command "-ff" initiated a vote to surrender. Although Dota 2 does not have this feature, the expression FF has remained in the gaming slang.

Players use FF not only to mean "we surrender" but also as a request to quickly finish an obviously lost game — fast finish.

Despite the absence of an official surrender system, FF has firmly entered players' vocabulary and is often replaced or supplemented by the term gg (good game), which in competitive Dota automatically ends the match and is considered an acknowledgment of defeat.
