History

Sand King Gomez is a professional Dota 2 team based in North America, founded in the fall of 2020.

The original roster of Sand King Gomez included players Mr.Beans, Flameshock, Dark Knight, N1ne and kibihc. Their first competition was the Octaexon League Season 1 tournament, where they won first place. After that, the team participated in Liga Nacional de Dota Temporada 2, a local Dota 2 championship, where they also took first place and won around $1000.

During 2021, the team participated in several Octaexon League seasons and in the open qualifications for the regional DPC League, but failed to make it to the main stage. Sand King Gomez subsequently participated in qualifications for Royal Jelly Covenant, Thunderpick Bitcoin Series, and other third-tier tournaments. The team also attempted to qualify for the third round of the DPC Ranked League, but was disqualified due to an indefinite ban for one of the players.

In early 2023, Sand King Gomez participated in the DPC NA 2023 Tour 2 indoor qualifiers and finished second, allowing them to advance to the second division of the regional DPC league, and also tried to qualify for TI12 and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023.

In 2024, the team participated in the qualification at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, but failed to get further than the open stage. After that, Sand King Gomez took a short break from playing.

In March of the same year, the roster underwent some changes in the roster and in the updated form went to qualify for DreamLeague Season 23 and PGL Wallachia Season 1, but failed and could not get to the main stage of any tournament. A bit later, the roster tried in qualifiers for Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International 2024, but stalled in the open stage.
