History

Infinity (formerly known as Infinity Esports) is a Costa Rican esports organization founded in 2009. They entered the competitive Dota 2 scene in April 2020.

The first tournament for the Dota roster of Infinity was Realms Collide, where the team received a direct invitation. Unfortunately, the team did not secure any victories in the tournament. In the subsequent championship, Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Season 4, the team finished in 7-8th place, reaching the second round of the lower bracket but ultimately losing to EgoBoys.

After a month-long break, the team participated in The Great American Rivalry Division 1 Season 1, where teams from South and North America played together. During the group stage, the Costa Rican team managed to defeat the underdog Vira Lata Caramelo. Finishing in 7-8th place in the tournament, the team earned their first thousand dollars in prize money. In August, Infinity took part in Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Season 5, once again defeating Vira Lata Caramelo with a score of 2:0, securing the second-to-last place in the tournament.

In September 2020, the team successfully qualified for BTS Pro Series Season 3: Americas, defeating Sandblood 2:0 in the finals. During the tournament, Infinity faced strong teams from South and North America. In the elimination match, the Costa Rican organization lost to Thunder Predator with a score of 0:2, finishing in 7-8th place and earning $1250 in prize money.

The team's notable achievements include victories in tournaments such as EPL World Series: America Season 7 and Season 8, Volt Esports, Epulze Monthly Cup South America: Lunar New Year 2021, and Epulze Monthly Cup South America: 2021 Warm Up. Additionally, they secured prize placements in the DPC league for the 2021-2022 season in South America, both in the first and second divisions.
