Bio

Maurice KheZu Gutmann is a German esports player, broadcaster and analyst. He was born on April 27, 1995. KheZu started his esport path in Heroes of Newerth. There he became famous as one of the most experienced offlaners, and was also the second player in terms of prize money. Maurice moved to Dota 2 at the end of 2015.

Already in 2016, Gutmann advanced to The International 2016, where he took 16th place in the roster of Escape Gaming. Then with this team he won DreamLeague Season 6 League Play, after which he moved to Team Secret. In its ranks KheZu played in more than 10 tournaments, and among the significant achievements can be highlighted the victory at ROG MASTERS 2016 and DreamLeague Season 7 | Division, third place at EPICENTER and DreamLeague Season 7, second at The Summit 7 and getting into the top-12 at The International 2017.

In early 2018, KheZu joined the OG roster and finished 4th at Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds, and at the end of the year, he reached the top 6 at Dreamleague Season 10 with Vega Squadron. In the middle of 2019 he was invited to Chaos Esports Club, under the tag of which the player made his way to The International 2019, where he finished in last place. In March 2020, Maurice joined CR4ZY and stayed in it for just over half a year - the main result of the team during that period was a top six finish at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3.

In 2021, KheZu played for ViKingg for a while, with whom he took gold at DreamLeague Season 15 DPC Western Europe Lower Division, Positive Fire Games and EPIC League Season 3 Division 1. In 2022, he joined Quincy Crew for the DPC League: the team won in Season 1, and won bronze in Season 2 and 3. At the end of the year Maurice took over as QC coach and under his mentorship the roster finished in the top-12 at The International 2021.

In addition to his playing career, KheZu began to develop as a broadcaster in 2019. He first worked at small events, and then began appearing in studio at The International and Riyadh Masters Series championships, majors, DPC leagues, and other tier-1 tournaments.

At the end of 2024, Maurice decided to try coaching again and returned to OG. With him, the team finished 4th at RES Regional Champions and 10th at BLAST SLAM I.

The team started 2025 with a 3rd place finish at Asian Dragon Series: Continental Collision. In March, the roster failed, finishing in last place at PGL Wallachia: Season 3. Later, OG did not qualify for DreamLeague Season 26, placed 8th at CCT Dota 2 Series 8, and finished 5th at FISSURE Special.

  • May 5, 2025 - KheZu, who had been coaching the team since September 2024, left the roster of his own accord.
