Bio

Pan Frisk Yi (also known as Fade) is a Chinese professional Dota 2 player. Unlike many of his compatriots, he is fluent in English, which is why he often gives interviews at major tournaments. His main achievement is a top-6 finish at The International 2019.

Pan began his career as an esports player in 2015, when he managed to reach 2nd place in the open qualifiers for the Frankfurt Major 2015 as part of Enigma, which is impressive considering the competition in the region. Fade's first professional club was ThundeRobot Gaming, which he joined in 2016. This team mainly competed in the lower leagues of China, so little is known about its achievements. Fade's potential was recognized by Vici Gaming, so the young player first joined the ranks of its youth roster, Vici Gaming Potential, and then moved to VGJ.Thunder.

With this team, Fade and his teammates went to the PGL Open Bucharest 2017, where they finished in 5th-6th place, and then won the bronze medal in the China Dota2 Professional League Season 2. In 2018, the players won Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds, earning $200,000 and becoming finalists in The Bucharest Major, receiving the same amount as a prize, as well as entering the top 12 of the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 and China Dota 2 Supermajor. Despite qualifying directly for The International 2018, Pan and company performed poorly at the main event of the year and finished in 13th-16th place.

After the reshuffle, Fade moved to the main roster of Vici Gaming. Victories at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 1, DreamLeague Season 11 and EPICENTER Major 2019 allowed Pan to go to The International 2019 without going through the qualifiers. At the tournament, the team performed well and finished in 5th-6th place. At the end of the championship, Fade left the team and temporarily went inactive.

He returned to the pro scene as a player and captain of Team Aster. Before the global quarantine, he managed to win StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 and then tried to keep his team among the leaders in the region. In 2024, Team Aster disbanded its Dota 2 roster.

In mid-June, as part of Team Zhou, he competed in the Chinese tournament Immortal Cup S1 and emerged as champion.
