Player BoBoKa from from G2.Invictus Gaming Dota 2
Bio
BoBoKa, also known as Borax, is a Chinese player in Dota 2 who plays the fourth position. He was the champion of Dota 2 Asia Championships 2017 and his signature heroes are considered to be Earth Spirit, Monkey King, and Riki.
BoBoKa started his esports career in September 2015. Having not achieved significant success in TongFu.WanZhou and Team DK, he moved to iG.Vitality at the end of 2015. As the organization's main roster was not performing well, qd, Xxs, Borax, and Rong moved to Invictus Gaming in March 2016. In the 2016-2017 season, BoBoKa was recognized as a young star in the roamer position. He reinforced this with his results - gold at Dota 2 Asia Championships 2017, 3-4th place at The Kiev Major 2017, and 5-6th place at The International 2017. In the next season, Invictus Gaming did not delight their fans with major victories, and after finishing last at The International 2018, Borax moved to Team Aster in September 2018.
The new team of our hero did not immediately achieve high results - finishing last at majors and rare victories at Chinese tournaments did not please the club's management. A captain replacement helped the team reach Tier-1 level - after finishing 9-12th at MDL Chengdu Major and DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major, they won StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3. However, the earned DPC points were not needed for the Chinese tag - The International 2020 was postponed and the rating was reset. During the "online era", the team occasionally placed in prize positions in local tournaments. After Valve announced the new DPC season in 2021, Team Aster surprised many by finishing second and first in Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season 1 - China Upper Division and Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season 2 - China Upper Division, respectively. However, the team was unable to rise above 9-12th place at the majors, but it did not stop the Chinese tag from qualifying for The International 2021. At the tournament itself, the team finished 13-16th.
The year 2022 proved to be a very successful one for Team Aster. The roster placed 3rd at PGL Arlington Major 2022, 2nd at ESL One Malaysia 2022, and 4th at The International 2022.
In 2023, BoBoKa decided to leave Team Aster after some poor performances at tournaments and missed The International 2023. The new team for the player was G2.IG. Under this tag BoBoKa became the champion of Esports Shanghai Masters 2023 and participated in ESL One: Kuala Lumpur 2023, where he took 5th place.
In January 2024, the team participated in qualifications for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, DreamLeague Season 22 and ESL One Birmingham 2024. G2.IG managed to qualify for DreamLeague and LAN Birmingham, but at the BetBoom Dacha closed qualification, the squad was defeated by Blacklist International and dropped out of the tournament in 7th place.
