Valve forgot to announce important changes in the patch 7.31d

Dota 2 Updates

On June 9, Dota 2 developers released patch 7.31d, in which they altered the Battle Pass dates, the characteristics of some items and heroes. However, later it turned out that Valve did not mention the most important changes that affected the win rate of meta heroes Storm Spirit and Beastmaster.

Dota 2 analyst Kozak wrote that on the first day after the release of the patch, the win rate of Storm Spirit dropped by almost 8%, while Beastmaster’s win rate dropped by 2-3%. The full list of updates that affected the above-mentioned heroes is as follows:

Storm Spirit

  • Ball Lightning base mana cost reduced from 25 to 15
  • Ball Lightning mana cost per 100 traveled units increased from 10 + 0.65% to 15 + 0.7%
  • Overload’s Aghanim’s Shard bonus attack speed reduced from 40 to 15.

Beastmaster

  • Call of the Wild Hawk: Movement speed reduced from 430 to 300, health from 350 to 150, and vision reduced by 250.
  • Call of the Wild Boar: Level 1 damage reduced by 3-9, attack interval and animation speed reduced, pet experience increased, and boar health and movement speed reduced.

Valve’s mistake affected the course of the matches of the DPC 2021/22 Tour 3. In particular, CIS Rejects lost to Natus Vincere in the first match after Gleb «depressed kid» Zyryanov picked Storm Spirit.
