The final stage of The International 2024 kicked off at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. The first day of the final stage of TI began with the opening ceremony, which was shown on the official broadcasts of the championship.

The audience was shown a small selection of highlights from previous tournaments of the series, as well as introduced the participants of the final stage of the tournament. At the end, Valve CEO Gabe Newell gave his opening speech:

“13 years ago, I sat in the front row when the first Dota 2 champions won Aegis in a convention hall not far from today's [Royal Arena]. From that hall to a concert hall in Seattle and then to stadiums around the world. The crowds got bigger, the teams and players changed. But one thing has remained the same - the joy of watching the best play Dota 2.

I welcome all of you - those of you in the arena, or the millions of you watching the tournament around the world. Welcome to the Royal Arena in Copenhagen. Welcome to Europe, where it all began. Welcome to the greatest eSports tournament in the world. Welcome to The International"

The International 2024 takes place September 4-15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. There are 16 teams competing in the championship. The prize pool of the event is more than $2 million.

As CyberScore reported earlier, Treasure of Crimson Witness was added to Dota 2 for visitors of The International 2024.
