Team Spirit: players and team history by CyberScore

Teams

Team Spirit is a famous esports organization that is represented in CS:GO, Dota 2, League of Legends and Hearthstone. Its history in Dota 2 began in December 2015, when Spirit signed the promising CIS Rejects roster. The team, which included Goblak, Iceberg, ALWAYSWANNAFLY, RAMZES666 and AfterLife, gained attention by winning several online tournaments.

This roster failed to reach great heights on the professional Dota 2 scene. The team performed well in the qualifiers for major tournaments, but could not boast of success at the events themselves. The best achievement of the roster was getting a ticket to The Shanghai Major 2016, where Spirit took 13th-16th place, earning $30,000 in prize money.

After that, RAMZES666 and AfterLife left the team, which led to worse results and the subsequent disbandment of the roster. Before the start of 2017, the line-up included 633, Iceberg, DkPhobos, fng and VANSKOR. Despite the reshuffle, Spirit failed to qualify for The International 2017, which led to new changes in the squad.

In 2018, the team managed to reach two major tournaments: ESL One Birmingham 2018 (7th-9th place) and China Dota 2 Supermajor (13th-16th place). The management of the organization considered this result unsatisfactory and continued experiments with the players, which for a long time did not pay any dividends.

Success came to Spirit after the signing of Yellow Submarine‘s roster in December 2020. The new squad consisted of youngsters Yatoro, TORONTOTOKYO and Collapse, a veteran Miposhka, while so bad became a captain. The last and decisive change in the line-up was the replacement of so bad with Mira. In 2021, the team gained 585 DPC points and was left without a direct invitation to The International 2021. Spirit got into the main tournament of the year thanks to a successful performance in the regional qualifiers. At TI10 the team grabbed a shock win by beating PSG.LGD with a score of 3:2 in the grand final.

The team won the first season of the DPC EEU 2021/22, regional finals, but then failed at ESL One Stockholm Dota Major 2022, being eliminated from the tournament after the first round of the playoffs. The organization recently moved from Moscow to Belgrade because of the war that Russia unleashed in Ukraine.
