Team Lynx announced a new carry for upcoming tournaments

Kazakh player Aibek TA2000 Tokayev has joined the Team Lynx roster and will help the team at several tournaments. The organization announced the news on social media.

He will replace Nazar Igris Schurko in the carry position, who had been playing for the team since late July. Club officials noted that TA2000 has not yet been signed permanently and will be tested in upcoming competitions.

We fully understand why this player’s selection is sparking debate within the Ukrainian community. We are familiar with his previous career, the teams he has played for, and the tournaments in which he has participated. We are not trying to pretend that this context does not exist. But there is another side to the situation that we want to address honestly.

There are few strong free agents. Some players are waiting for offers after major tournaments. Some are not ready to play for a Ukrainian organization and choose other teams and mixes, which sometimes also have questionable backgrounds. For many, a major factor is that we, as a matter of principle, do not participate in tournaments organized by Russian bookmakers, which means we have significantly fewer available events.

At the same time, Igris will remain part of Team Lynx, while the organization intends to find a team where he can compete on loan.

Igris is still very young. Throwing him right into a full-fledged professional season and demanding results on par with a well-established team would be unfair both to him and to the rest of the roster.
Therefore, our strategy remains unchanged: to develop Igris within our system and prepare him for the professional scene, while at the same time giving the main roster the opportunity to play, improve, and grow.

The first tournament for the updated roster will be EPL Masters II. Team Lynx received an invitation to the Play-In stage, where participants will compete for spots in the main stage of the tournament with a $100,000 prize pool.

Previously, Tokayev was part of Power Rangers and competed with the team at Esports World Cup 2026, where they finished 21st-24th. The team failed to win a single series during the group stage, while Aibek's individual form was very inconsistent.

Currently, TA2000 ranks 54th among players by MMR.

In the first season of EPL Masters, Team Lynx also competed in the Play-In stage but failed to advance, finishing the group stage with one victory in five series.

The main stage of EPL Masters II will take place from 30.08.2026 to 10.09.2026. A total of 20 teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool.
