Quantum Team disbands Dota 2 roster
The esports organization Quantum Team has announced the disbandment of its main Dota 2 roster. The decision was made following a disciplinary incident involving player Dmitry Lukas Davydov, who had previously been suspended for participating in a match-fixing scheme.
It should be noted that Quantum Team was disqualified from the European Pro League Season 27 due to suspicions of foul play involving their captain Dmitry Lukas Davydov. During that match, suspicious betting activity and odds (ranging from 1.01 to 1.03) were recorded in several Asian regions, and despite holding a 20,000 gold lead, Quantum Team ultimately lost the game.
According to the club's statement, the roster had shown unsatisfactory results and was disbanded. It is noted that Lukas remained the only player under contract and was expected to become the centerpiece of the new lineup.
It is important to emphasize that no one within Quantum was aware of Lukas’ intentions. He was under contract, and we believed in his professional and honest approach to the competitive scene.
The organization also clarified that it had tested various rosters under the Quantum tag at different tournaments, evaluating potential players. However, after the incident with Lukas, the management contacted tournament organizers to ensure that no rules of fair play had been violated by the club.
Immediately following the incident, we first reached out to tournament organizers to rule out any unfair play associated with our organization.
The organization stated that as of now, all rosters except Quantum Academy have been disbanded, participation in professional tournaments has been paused, bootcamps have been canceled, and the team villa has been vacated. At the same time, Quantum Team emphasizes its commitment to the principles of fair and transparent esports.
Earlier, Cyberscore reported that commentator Vladimir Maelstorm Kuzminov hinted at possible roster changes within Gaimin Gladiators after The International 2025.
