The Dota 2 community commented on the announcement of The International 2024
On March 8, the official Dota 2 website announced that The International 2024 would be held in Denmark. Thus, popular streamer Yaroslav NS Kuznetsov and Russian analyst Khaled sQreen El-Habbash evaluated the venue of the tournament and gave several comments.
In his telegram channel, NS emphasized that Europe is ideal for hosting The International and its postponement to September, according to the streamer's guesses, is connected with the upcoming Riyadh Masters 2024.
"It's cool that The International is in Europe, of course, because it will be convenient to watch it. I thought that Valve would try to postpone the Int to August again this year, but they didn't. Either they just couldn't, or it was because of the Riyadh Masters, which will end at the end of July, and they don't want to have two such events with an interval of several weeks."
sQreen agreed with NS and praised the company's decision to hold the tournament in Denmark, saying that logistics and the time zone are a definite plus.
"The International in Denmark sounds interesting. In terms of logistics and time zone, it's definitely a plus."
NS also noted that the reason for such an early announcement of The International was the long-awaited Crownfall event in the form of a possible BattlePass, which Valve had previously refused.

"The announcement of The International, by the way, is quite early, if you think about it, I wonder why? Perhaps the thing is that the famous (long-awaited, magical, sparkling, incredible) Crownfall event is not just an event, but also a BATTLEPASS (or some kind of analog, who knows what), and it would be a shame to release it without a preliminary TI announcement? Well, maybe so, maybe not."
As a reminder, the first open qualification of Elite League 2024 ended on March 7, and the results can be found here.
