“22% of games in Ability Draft of 7.40c are 5v5 bots”: analyst

Esports analyst and technical director of Team Liquid, Ben Noxville Steenhuisen, published his research on Ability Draft match statistics in patch 7.40c, according to which almost a quarter of games in this mode are 5v5 bot games.

"Doing some deeper investigation into the bots that are running rampant in Ability Draft. Expanded the heuristics to find sneakier bot accounts (some are much more obvious than others). So far 47423 / 215610 (22%) of 7.40c AD games are 5v5 bots."

The purpose of manipulating bots is likely to inflate the number of hours played on an account, which is necessary to unlock ranked mode, with the subsequent sale of the account.

As a reminder, the last wave of bans in Dota 2 took place in August 2025. Valve blocked more than 75,000 accounts caught smurfing, boosting, and other unfair activities.

As CyberScore reported earlier, Noxville talked about MidOne's unique record.
