Maelstorm explained the slot distribution in the DreamLeague Season 26 qualifiers

Commentator Vladimir Maelstorm Kuzminov shared his thoughts on the slot distribution for the DreamLeague Season 26 qualifiers. According to him, the allocation system is fully objective and based on the EPT ranking.

He pointed out that many fans are confused as to why South America has two slots while Eastern Europe only has one. However, as Maelstorm explains, all slots are distributed according to a pre-established formula that takes into account the strength of the region, the teams’ EPT standings and the internal ESL rating. There are no subjective decisions in the process.

It’s not about favoritism. Everything is calculated by points and outlined in the rulebook. Eastern Europe truly has only one slot, and that’s fair given the current standings and rankings. Most top teams from the region have already qualified, except for Aurora — but even they don't appear as a must-have team at this point.

Let us remind you that the qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 26 concluded on April 4 in all regions except China. There, the qualifier will take place as a separate LAN tournament ACL X ESL Challenger China. The only representative of Eastern Europe will be Aurora Gaming, who earned their slot through the qualifiers.

DreamLeague Season 26 will take place from 19.05.2025, to 01.06.2025. 16 teams will participate in the championship. The event's prize pool is $1,000,000.

Earlier, CyberScore.live reported that Team Spirit declined an invite to DreamLeague Season 26.
