“We will soon present our new circuit,” — FISSURE plans to launch a Dota 2 tournament system
Andrey Mikheev, co-owner of tournament operator FISSURE, spoke about the company's plans for the near future in an interview with Offstage. The organization plans to systematize its Dota 2 events by organizing several regular tournaments and one main championship.
"I would say that it will probably be unique. It won't be simple; it will have its own twists and turns in terms of how the tournaments are connected. It won't be like... I don't even know how to explain it; it's better to see it, or maybe it's easier to describe it in a few words. It's clear that one tournament affects the second, the second affects the third, it's just a question of their influence, and the tournaments are simply different: some are LAN, some are online. I'm not ready to say more, because suddenly it will all be canceled, and I'll be like, ‘Well, what was I talking about...’ Let it happen first."
Mikhailov also spoke about TO's more ambitious plans. The company aims to host The International, which Valve has been organizing jointly with PGL in recent years.
“They have now held a tender for 2027-2028, and the next submission will be, respectively, in my opinion, in a year's time — for 2029-2030. There are no changes in this regard, it is still our goal, from the point of view of the major. TI is still a dream.”
As a reminder, the online championship FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 will start on October 5. The organization's next LAN tournament, FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, is scheduled for October 23 to November 2 and will take place in Belgrade, Serbia.
As CyberScore reported earlier, ESL has announced a new LAN tournament.
