Cr1t announces a break from his professional career: when will he return

Danish player Andreas Cr1t- Nielsen announced on his X page that he is taking a break from the professional scene and will miss the next competitive season.

It was not an easy decision. I love this game and deeply appreciate the last few years of my life. I realize how fortunate I have been to make a living doing what I love.

I want to thank all the people I have had the opportunity to work and play with over the years. I have been incredibly fortunate to play alongside the best players from several generations.

Cr1t- competed on the professional Dota 2 scene for more than ten years. With OG, he won The Frankfurt Major 2015 and The Manila Major 2016 before joining Evil Geniuses in 2016. With the North American team, the Danish player won GESC: Indonesia Dota2 Minor and The Manila Masters, finished third at The International 2018, and placed 5th-6th at The International 2019.

At the end of 2022, Cr1t- joined Shopify Rebellion alongside several members of the former Evil Geniuses roster. Under the new tag, the team was unable to win a trophy at the biggest tournaments, but finished third at DreamLeague Season 19 and fourth at DreamLeague Season 21.

The player's final team was Falcons, which he joined in 2023. Nielsen won several major tournaments with the team, with the victory at The International 2025 becoming his biggest achievement. His final tournament before taking a break was The International 2026, where the team finished in 7th-8th place. In total, he earned more than $3,800,000 in prize money during his career.
