Dota 2 system requirements

Technical questions

Dota 2 game was created in 2011. For modern computers, its content and support for the best performance is not a problem. In connection with the recent transition of the game client to a new engine called Source 2, its performance (according to the developers and according to feedback from many players) has increased markedly. The owners of weak cars were very happy with this news.

Minimum system requirements for the game:

  • OS: Windows 7 / Vista / Vista64 / XP / Windows 8 / Windows 10
  • Processor: Pentium 4 3.0 GHz
  • RAM: 1 GB for XP / 2 GB for Vista, Windows 7,
  • Video card: DirectX 9 compatible video card with 256 MB memory, Shader Model 2.0. ATI X800, NVidia 6600 or better
  • Internet connection
  • Hard drive: At least 10 GB of free space
  • Sound: DirectX 9.0c
  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Microphone (for chatting while playing)

Recommended system requirements:

  • Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.26 GHz or equivalent AMD Athlon
  • Random Access Memory (RAM): 4.0 GB
  • The game will take up at least 12 GB of hard disk space
  • Video card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or Ati Radeon 3870 HD 512MB or better
  • Internet connection
  • DirectX 9.0c
  • Operating System: Windows XP®, Windows 7®, Windows Vista®, Windows 8, Windows 10
  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Microphone

It should be noted that the above system requirements are collected statistical data from various portals, which lay out the characteristics under which the game starts and works correctly. In fact, the developers and IceFrog itself did not give any specific information. So the claims above may very well be just an assumption and perhaps not even the closest to the truth. The further the game develops, the higher its system requirements become for a comfortable game.
