Player Oli~ from from Aurora Gaming Dota 2
Bio
Oli is a professional Dota 2 player from Malaysia and the champion of the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021. His signature heroes are Lich and Oracle.
Oli started his esports career in October 2017 when he joined Geek Fam. He played for the Malaysian club throughout the 2017-2018 season until the team failed to qualify for The International 2018. After the entire Geek Fam roster was disbanded, Oli accepted an invitation from Invictus Gaming.
Despite winning Betway Dota 2 Asia League Season 1 and JBO Asian Masters League S2, the team was unable to make the cut for the closed qualifiers for The International 2019. In the new season, the Invictus Gaming roster remained almost unchanged with flyfly, Emo, JT-, and Oli staying on the team, while Kaka became their new captain. After winning DOTA Summit 11, taking bronze at the MDL Chengdu Major and finishing 5-6th at DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major, the team ranked 5th in the DPC rating, qualifying directly for The International 10. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world championship was postponed, and the professional scene entered the "online era". During this period, Oli and his team often reached the finals of major Chinese leagues but never won them.
Invictus Gaming fans were finally relieved when Valve announced a new DPC season in 2021. The first Chinese cycle ended flawlessly with the team's victory in Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season 1 - China Upper Division and gold at ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021. After receiving a direct invitation to The International 10, the players relaxed a bit, which immediately affected the results - fourth place at Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season 2 - China Upper Division and 15th at WePlay AniMajor. At the major in Kiev, Invictus Gaming played with a coach as Oli was unable to obtain permission to enter Ukraine. After the world championship was postponed to Romania, our hero had to work hard to organize his departure from Malaysia, but already in September 2021, we learned that the Chinese club had arrived in Europe with the full lineup.
In 2023, Oli returned to his home region of Southeast Asia and became a Talon Esports mainstay. He managed to achieve some good results, top-3 at Riyadh Masters 2023 and Lima Major 2023, but only 9-12th place at The International 12. After this championship, Talon Esports decided to change the roster and Oli moved to Aurora Gaming.
