Player Nine from Dota 2
Information
Bio
Nine is a professional Dota 2 player from Germany who plays the mid position. He became the first German player to reach a MMR of 9000. Leon gained recognition thanks to his performances with Team Spirit, J.Storm, and Business Associates. After Saksa took a break from his career the player changed from his usual position to Support.
Nine made his initial attempts in the pro scene back in 2015. For example, he participated in StarLadder ProSeries Season 13 as part of the stack Maksalaatikko and finished in the 5th-8th place. His professional esports career started more systematically a year later when he joined Valkyrie eSports Gaming as his first permanent team. However, the team performed weakly even on the tier-3 European scene, and he didn't achieve any notable results. His performance with Team Saphira was more successful, earning him a 3rd place in ProDotA Cup Europe #18, a 2nd place in StarLadder ProSeries Season 19, and over $1,000 in total prize money.
Nine's real breakthrough came when he joined Skiter, dnz, rmN-, and Buugi to become part of PENTA Sports. The talented player led the team to victories in StarLadder ProSeries Season 20, WellPlay Invitational #9, and joinDOTA League Season 11, experiencing the taste of tier-2 Dota for the first time. They also reached the top 4 at ROG MASTERS 2017, earning over $21,000. In early 2018, Nine went inactive but returned to the professional scene in September when he joined Team Spirit. Under the guidance of fng, the player won Cryptomasters and I Can't Believe It's Not Summit! and performed successfully in several minor tournaments.
After the European squad disbanded, Nine played with his former teammates in the stack Kaban for a while but soon decided to change regions and joined the American team J.Storm. With J.Storm, he became the champion of the fan-favorite Midas Mode 2, earning $22,000. He also participated in his first tier-1 tournament, the MDL Chengdu Major, finishing in the top 6 and earning the team $60,000. Later, he competed in the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore, but only reached the 11th-12th place.
When J.Storm sponsorship ended and Business Associates emerged, Nine continued playing with his teammates, securing a 7th-8th place at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 and a 4th place at the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Online. In April 2020, Leon went inactive again and later formed the stack mudgolems, which was eventually signed by Tundra Esports.
As a member of Tundra Esports, the player became the champion of The International 2022, as well as ESL One Fall 2021 and DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division I.
