Sikle: “In Dota, zero often doesn't mean nothing, it just means it's too small”

Denis Sikle Lerman, an analyst for the Eastern European team Team Spirit, shared an interesting feature of Dota 2 on his personal Telegram channel.

"In Dota, zero often doesn't mean nothing, it just means too small. This concept gives some heroes interesting features. For example, until 7.38, all players on Nyx Assassin killed neutrals with Mind Flare and, with a bit of luck, if the neutrals were stacked, they would ‘enter’ each other on the way back (or a Dark Seer could use Vacuum). Neutrals would stack on top of each other in a “phased” state (like Phase Boots), removing collision. In this situation, Nyx Assassin could kill all of these stacked creeps (who had mana) with a single use of Mind Flare. Why?

Because the hero has a talent that turns Mind Flare into an AoE ability (currently on the right at level 25), but when the talent didn't come into play, the value was set to 0. The radius effect was not disabled before the ability appeared, but simply reduced to an unlikely radius, so if you “stack” targets, the effect will work on all of them"

Spectre, which is always in a “phased” state due to its innate ability, can also trigger abilities with a radius of “0” on both targets.

Sikle noted that Flaming Lasso Batrider can also catch two targets even without Aghanim's Scepter if the enemies are very close to each other, for example, under the effect of Skewer Magnus.

As CyberScore reported earlier, Sikle discovered a bug in Dota 2 that permanently “kills” an enemy.
