On May 25, a new matchmaking duration record was set in Dota 2. The match has lasted over 21 hours and has already broken numerous in-game records, including the previous world record for the longest public match, which stood at 376 minutes and 5 seconds.
One of the match participants, Russian-speaking streamer Grusti_ne, shared the event live on stream and emailed Valve. The company's CEO Gabe Newell responded from his official email, simply commenting: “Cool.”
During the match, the following records were set:
- Most kills — over 1000
- Most deaths in a ranked match — 371
- Most Chainmail items consumed by Clockwerk — over 25,000 (following patch 7.39, Clockwerk gained a facet allowing him to absorb Chainmail for armor)
- Most duel damage by Legion Commander — 13,660.
The match is still ongoing, and players are in no rush to end it, pushing the limits of a single Dota 2 game.
Earlier, Cyberscore reported on the release of patch 7.39 in Dota 2.
