“A top Dota 2 organization will shut down and the team will undergo changes”, — Says Aurora Gaming Owner

Valeriy L3rich Kharitonov confirmed that Aurora Gaming will make roster changes, although he initially did not specify which positions would be affected. He also added that one of the leading esports organizations could completely shut down its Dota 2 division, but did not reveal its name.

The latest major organization to leave the professional Dota 2 scene was Tundra Esports. In June 2026, the club sold its entire roster to 1Win Team and later announced its withdrawal from competitive esports and transition to a media-focused project.

Before Tundra left the professional scene, the organization won The International 2022, while its roster also became champion of DreamLeague Season 28 and ESL One Birmingham 2026 during the 2026 season.

Kharitonov later revealed that Aurora Gaming had already completed its new Dota 2 roster. However, the organization has yet to officially unveil the lineup.

L3rich also confirmed that Chang Ws Wei Shen will remain on the roster, with the organization re-signing the offlaner. The club owner also clarified that Ammar ATF Al-Assaf and Stanislav Malr1ne Potorak will not join the team, dismissing rumors about the possible arrival of the Team Falcons players.

The remaining changes have yet to be officially revealed. According to rumors, Miroslaw Mira Kolpakov is considering retiring or taking a break. Oliver skiter Lepko and Matthew Whitemon Filemon are among the potential new players, while Anatoly boolk Ivanov could become the team's new coach.

Kharitonov also spoke positively about players from Southeast Asia, highlighting the high level of some of the region's representatives. He also indicated that Aurora's new roster will not consist entirely of Asian players.

At The International 2026, the team failed to reach the playoffs and finished the tournament in 9th-13th place.

The new Aurora Gaming roster could make its debut at BLAST Slam VIII, which will take place from 29.09.2026 to 11.10.2026 with a prize pool of $750,000. Direct invites to the tournament have yet to be announced, so the team's participation has not been confirmed.
