SyndereN says Valve should invest Battle Pass 2022 money into the DPC 2023

World of stars

Former professional player and current commentator and analyst Troels ‘syndereN‘ Nielsen shared his opinion on the amount of revenue from Battle Pass 2022, which ended on the evening of January 12th. He did this during the «We Say Things» podcast hosted by commentator, co-founder of Dota Cinema and Digital Chaos Shannon ‘SUNSfan‘ Scotten.

SyndereN believes that the amount of $293 million is misleading. In his poinion, the real figure is about $150 million. He explains this difference by the fact that the calculations were based on the data of player accounts on statistical sites such as stratz, which counted the Battle Pass and additional levels from the «Souvenir Bag» as purchased with money.

Troels also didn’t like that not all of the Battle Pass revenue was added to the TI11 prize pool. In his opinion, these funds could have been effectively used for Dota Pro Circuit 2023.

«You’ve got to keep in mind that only the first half of Battle Pass went to TI, and the second half was after. We disagree with it. If they wanna do it that way, they should support the DPC from the second part of the BP. Overall, these numbers are definitely misleading, and it’s worth talking about it», stated syndereN.

We remind you that the first part of the Battle Pass 2022 was valid from September 1 to November 2, and the second one was active from November 3 to January 12.

As reported by CyberScore, the organizers of The Lima Major 2023 which will be held after the end of the DPC 2023 Tour 1 talked about the situation with the tournament on the background of protests in Peru.
