The Ukrainian Dota 2 commentator Vitalii «v1lat» Volochai did not hide his displeasure when he learned that the rights for the Russian-language broadcast of the regional qualifiers, the wildcard and the group stage of The International 2022 were sold to the BetBoom bookmaker. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

V1lat did not specify the amount the tender winners had to pay, but noted that it was at least $1 million. Volochai did not like the fact that earlier the pre-playoff matches of The International could be broadcasted by all studios.

«All previous years of TI Qualifiers have been a feast for the cast community. Valve has worked with various commentators, paid them, scouted talent and allowed all the studios to broadcast. In fact, these broadcasts were the main event of the year. This year will be different. Now you need to buy these rights and they were sold to bookies. In Russia, the official broadcast will be on the BetBoom channel on Twitch. And, honestly, it does not fit in my head: the official broadcast of TI on the channel of the bookmaker. The reason is obvious: BetBoom paid for TI seven figures in American currency,» the commentator said.

In addition, V1lat noted that WePlay Esports will deal with the broadcast in Ukrainian language.

Also, PGL will handle the English-language broadcast of the main tournament of the year.

As reported by CyberScore, OG became the champion of ESL One Malaysia 2022. In the grand final the European team defeated Team Aster.
