Mind Games receives a technical defeat against Thunder Awaken at ESL One Stockholm Dota Major 2022

Three Mind Games players did not manage to get visas in time and were late for the first match of ESL One Stockholm Dota Major 2022 against Thunder Awaken. That’s why they were awarded a technical defeat. This information was confirmed by the tournament organizers on their Twitter page.

«Despite previous confirmation of approval from the VISA center, three of their players did not receive their VISA in time and were not able to travel to Stockholm for the start of the tournament. The team will receive a forfeit loss for today’s match against Thunder Awaken. We will continue to work with the team and provide updates on the situation,» ESL said in a statement.

Recall that the first Major of the season is being held in an updated format. It features 14 teams competing for $500,000 and 3530 DPC points. Due to a new outbreak of coronavirus, teams from China were unable to attend the tournament.

As CyberScore reported, some teams had problems with the roster for ESL One Stockholm Dota Major 2022. OG lost their captain and coach, and Mind Games went to the tournament without Semion «CemaTheSlayer» Krivulya and Danil «Bignum» Shekhovtsov.
