Hydra got accused of match fixing and disqualified from Neon League

Teams

A member of the second division of the DPC in Eastern Europe, the HYDRA team, was disqualified from the Neon League online tournament on suspicion of foul play and participation in match fixing. The organizers of the tournament announced this on their page on VK.

The reason for this decision was the defeat of HYDRA in the game against IVY tournament and the abnormal number of bets on the most unpredictable possible outcomes.

The organizers said that they received instructions from the tournament organizer to track this game on the first map and wait for further instructions. HYDRA controlled the situation during the first 25 minutes, but due to the stupid death of the key hero and the impossibility of a buyback, the team lost.

«Within 5 minutes after this map, a command was given to cancel the match and start proceedings on the fact of unfair play. On an emergency basis, a commission was assembled from representatives of the bookmaker’s office, the tournament operator and some professional players to analyze both the match itself and the bets. For your understanding – the average maximum bet on our match is $7-9 before the game and $40-50 during it. During this match $6,700 was wagered from a huge number of accounts,» the statement says.

The vast majority (about 90%) of these bets were made on the exact score of 2:1 and on the victory of IVY on the first map. As a result of checking the match, the commission agreed that there is an extremely high probability of foul play on the part of HYDRA participants.

As CyberScore reported, the organizers of the DPC league in China accused the Knights team of using cheats during the matches of the Winter Tour.
